Principal's Message
way' and welcome,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about ntamtqen snmamayatn band school.
As Principal, I believe that schools are about much more than academics. A great school is a place where children feel safe, valued, challenged, and connected—a place where they know they belong. That is the environment we strive to create every day at ntamtqen.
We are fortunate to live and learn in one of the most beautiful places in the world, surrounded by the lands, language, and traditions of the Syilx people. Our school is proud to be community-based and community-driven. We work to ensure that students not only meet the learning standards of British Columbia but also develop a strong sense of identity, culture, and connection to community.
At ntamtqen, we know that every child has unique strengths, gifts, and potential. Our role as educators is to help students discover those strengths, build confidence in themselves, and develop the skills they need to be successful in whatever path they choose. Whether a student needs additional support, greater challenge, or simply a caring adult who believes in them, we are committed to meeting them where they are and helping them grow.
One of the greatest strengths of our school is our people. Our dedicated staff work hard to build meaningful relationships with students and families because we know that education is strongest when schools and families work together. We are proud to offer small class sizes, individualized support, language and culture programming, transportation services, nutritious meals, and access to specialized supports that help students thrive.
Most importantly, we want our students to enjoy coming to school. We want them to feel excited about learning, proud of who they are, and confident in their future.
Whether you are a current family, a community member, or someone considering enrolling your child, I invite you to visit our school, meet our staff, and experience firsthand what makes ntamtqen such a special place to learn and grow.
Our doors are always open.
